History
HBO Max is a subscription video streaming service that debuted in May of 2020. The platform offers all of the award-winning content HBO has to offer including an extensive library of new hits, old favorites, and HBO Max originals. Subscribers will find more content than HBO GO and will include podcasts based on its programming through IHeartRadio. HBO Max will deliver its subscribers with a powerful library with endless hours of ad-free entertainment through several different streaming services.
Currently, HBO has a few different services which can often confuse subscribers. The main difference between HBO Max, HBO NOW, and HBO GO is that you can stream through HBO Max and it’s a stand-alone streaming platform where you can stream all of your HBO favorites plus new content. HBO GO is included in your paid HBO subscription through a TV or mobile provider and HBO NOW is a stand-alone service that lets you stream HBO’s catalog without a TV or mobile package.
